PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

BEHAVIOUR FOCUS
Make Safe Choices - This is a behaviour rule about Respect for Self, Others and Place. Making safe choices is making safe decisions about what you do. “Think Safe 2 Be Safe”

MIND UP FOCUS
Perspective Taking - Perspective Taking is thinking about how another person might feel and to imagine what you would feel, think or do if you were in that situation.

Dear Families,

What a week it has been for our little town!!  Since the last newsletter the school has held our first Movie Night. Luckily the weather was on our side for this event and all that attended had a fantastic time. A huge thank you to our P&C, parent reps and our school staff for making the event a great success.

This week we’ve had a windy, but as always enjoyable Under 8’s Day.  A huge thank you to the dedicated older students in the middle and upper years classes for their student leadership and teachers for their efforts in planning, organising and supporting the Early Years students in a memorable morning of fun, games and activities.

STRONG BEHAVIOUR AND MINDUP FOCUS
This term has seen our leaders provide a strong focus on our student learning behaviours at assembly and also within our Peer Support groups.  The positive change in student behaviour has been a great success, evidenced by the decrease in off task student learning behaviour and the decrease in students being sent to the mindful thinking space.

REPORT CARDS
This semester the report cards will demonstrate the work that students have been participating in for each learning area. They will receive a grade for each student’s achievement in relation to their knowledge, understanding and application. Each student will have a comprehensive comment on their learning behaviour and general behaviour.  Reports cards will be email out on Wednesday 27 June in week 11.

A MESSAGE FROM JABIRU - NEW CHILD CARE PACKAGE
As you will be aware from 2 July 2018, there will be a New Child Care Package, providing more support for more families attending school age care at your school with Jabiru.
Jabiru wants to make sure the transition to the new Child Care Package is as smooth and simple as possible for all the families we work with.
With only 3 weeks to go we would like to inform you of the ways in which we have been providing all the relevant information for families attending Jabiru.

Enjoy your week,
Sandy
