This year Queensland is celebrating 60 years of Under 8's Week.
Introduced by Early Childhood Australia Queensland Branch, the annual event is a time to celebrate being under 8 years of age. This year’s theme is Early Learning, Everyone Benefits.
Children are curious, creative and playful. They are naturally interested in the world around them. It is vital that a young child’s love of learning is nurtured and encouraged through a variety of experiences. As parents and carers, we often don’t realise the learning opportunities in the everyday activities our children engage in. Learning through play, investigation and exploration is easy and valuable for children in the early years, and it is through these positive learning experiences that our kids will develop a lifelong love of learning.
At PTSS we have a unique and inclusive event presented by the older children for the younger children to enjoy.
The older children and their Teachers spend many hours planning thoughtful and fun activities for the younger students, things such as face painting, games, knock-ems and crafts.
This year's event will be held on Wednesday, 26th June (Week 10). The morning of activities is held on the school oval from 9:00am - 11:00am, with children first arriving in their classroom for roll marking.
Parents are welcome to attend with their child and/or younger siblings for the morning.
There will be a sausage sizzle provided by the P&C for the children. Please advise your child and their Teacher, if there are specific dietary requirements to consider or if you would like to opt out of the sausage sizzle.
