We have a culture of digitally rich learning embedded into our pedagogical practices and learning experiences.  We harness an impressive network infrastructure to deliver 100% connectivity (internet, file and print) to all workstations throughout the school, including wireless coverage of the entire campus.

Our Resource Centre has a computer lab and can support a full class with laptops in addition to the dedicated Wireless Access Point.  All classrooms have 2 desktop workstations and access to wireless student laptops.

An integral part of daily classroom learning involves the use of interactive whiteboards which are installed in every classroom. In addition ipads, laptops and notepad devices are utilised as part of regular classroom delivery.

Our teachers understand the digital age in which we live, and the changing face of learning. We believe our students must be accessing and presenting information in digitally relevant, rich and engaging ways in order for them to be preparing for an ever changing and unknown future. It is imperative that our technologies and pedagogy stay abreast of this. Therefore our teachers plan regularly to embed the use of digital technologies in their lessons. Similarly our P&C generously support the acquisition of contemporary and innovative equipment as it becomes available.

Smart Classrooms

Petrie Terrace is committed to maintaining a quality rating in the Annual School ICT Index Report.  The maintenance of such a rating is a reflection of the knowledge, facilities, technologies, connectivity, spaces, teacher opinions, professional development, support and professionalism at Petrie Terrace State School.

The Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework enables Teachers to demonstrate their understanding and implementation of Information Communication Technologies into teaching, learning, assessment and reporting through development of a Digital Portfolio of items evidence and professionalism.
