Our Little Town
Our school community enjoys a strong sense of belonging and ownership over the direction and continuing success of our school. Known affectionately as 'Our Little Town', families, staff and students work together to protect the reputation for our unique capacity to provide a community hub within the Paddington/City area. Visitors frequently comment on the palpable sense of community and care that is demonstrated in the school. Respect for self, others and place is evident in our relationships with each other, ourselves and our school.
Many opportunities to be involved in the life of the school are presented throughout the year. A couple of the highlights are;
Whole school assemblies
Our Friday assembly is a highlight of the school week. Our student leaders deliver the school assembly each week. Alongside the Principal's address and other announcements, each week we celebrate the achievements of our students through the presentation of certificates. Every staff member, student and parent is invited to join in the whole school song, a different song each week sometimes incorporating a band composing of parents, staff and students. Each week the whole school assembly sings 'Little Town' our school pledge put to music by our beloved Brad.
School disco and school concert
Each year the whole school community comes together in fun and celebration for the school disco (Winter) and the school concert (summer). Both are a highlight of the school calendar enabling the school to showcase the talents of the families, staff and students. Petrie Terrace loves a party!
